Motion-modulated Harmonic Sensors

Résumé

This paper presents two harmonic sensors based on a RECCO reflector which can be used to modulated the backscattered wave at the 2nd harmonic as a function of their rotational speed. This property allows one to monitor the rotational speed remotely in real-time. Additionally, the transponder can also be identified based on the variation of its response as a function of the frequency. Finally, these transponders present an improved robustness compared to classical motion-modulated transponders and can be used in complex dynamic environments.
